Tesa is the co-founder of The Gut Network and its Practice and Business Manager. A former television foreign correspondent and political journalist, she spent more than two decades working across international newsrooms, where clear communication, careful listening and understanding the full story were essential.
At The Gut Network, she brings that same journalistic rigour to patient communication, education and practice operations, with a strong focus on accuracy, clarity and quality. Her own experience of navigating long-term healthcare has further shaped her commitment to making complex information easier to understand and ensuring that every interaction is thoughtful, compassionate and responsive to the individual patient.
Sally is an experienced Registered Nurse, who has experience as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Endoscopy, and is The Gut Network’s Practice Nurse.
With several years of experience working alongside Dr Keegan in endoscopy theatres, including in the care of patients undergoing complex procedures, she brings valuable clinical knowledge and a broad understanding of both practice-based and theatre care. She supports patients before their procedure, helping them feel informed, prepared and reassured.
Sally also follows the progress of patients discussed at multidisciplinary cancer meetings and helps ensure that care plans, follow-up and communication remain coordinated throughout their treatment.
Carmela was a general surgeon before her passion for clinical research led her to a career in cancer research and policy. She has served as Medical Adviser of two of Europe’s largest cancer research organisations and contributes to several pan-European cancer policy advisory groups. She is also a passionate advocate for breast cancer awareness and regularly speaks at Philippine embassies around the world.
At The Gut Network, she supports quality assurance across our administrative workflows, bringing a clinical perspective to the review of patient communications, documentation and processes.
Jessa is one of our friendly secretaries and is often among the first people patients speak with when they contact The Gut Network. She has a background in customer service, fraud investigation and administrative support, where she developed strong skills in problem-solving, confidentiality and coordinating the many practical details needed to keep things organised for patients.
A Magna Cum Laude graduate in Tourism Management, Jessa brings warmth, patience and close attention to detail to every interaction. She assists patients with enquiries, appointments and the practical steps involved in their care, always going above and beyond to make the process feel clear, organised and reassuring.
